Outbound Leadership Training

Nature has been for me, for as long as I remember a source of solace, inspiration, adventure, and delight; a home, a teacher, a companion. – Lorraine Anderson

Prof.G.S.Sreekiran and Mr. Midhun Paul accompanied the I Semester BBM, BCom and BCA Global students for an outbound training programme to Hasiru Valley near Anekal, about 40 kms from Bangalore. It was an overnight schedule. Students left the college premises on 21st September at about 7:30 A.M. and returned in the late evening of 22nd September 2015.

The first day was packed with fun filled games which included ‘Jiguja’ and activities that helped the students to break free and unleash the hidden potential in them. Besides, it helped the students to develop a feeling of comradeship and encouraged team-building and team bonding. Evening was spent by the students chilling at the campsite, pitching tents, setting up the place, unwinding in front of the bonfire and dancing away till the wee hours of the morning.

The next morning the zealous students embarked on a 10 km trek into the forest. Debriefing sessions on adventure activities like Zip line, Jumaring and Rappelling helped the students overcome the fear of the unknown and develop the can do attitude.

The students returned totally invigorated, discovered new things about their own personalities, conquered their fears, inhibitions and gathered a sense of accomplishment. Most importantly, they just got that adrenaline rush and a stimulating break from the mundane routine life.
