Bangladesh Delegates visit to DSBA

It was a huge honour for DSBA when some senior delegates in the field of education from Bangladesh came to visit the campus on 14th October’15 in the noon. The delegates who came on the visit were as follows: Mr Md. Dr Md Abdul Hakim-Director, South East University Mr Md Rezaul Karim-Additional Director, Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology Mr Md Khalequeuzzaman-Ad. Director, Gono Bishwabidyalaya Prof Md Serajul Islam Prodhan-Director, Dhaka International University Dr HarasiT Kumar Paul-Additional  Director, BSMMU Mr M Shamsul Haque-Director, Northern University Bangladesh Mr Zillur Rahman Biswas-Additional Director, Northern University, Bangladesh Mr Fakir Tajul Islam-Additional Director, Uttara University Mr Khawz Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed –Director, United International University Mr Mahbubul Haque –Director, University of Asia& Pacific Mr Abdullah Mohammed Taher-Additional Director, Asian University Mr A Q M Shafiul Azam-Deputy Director, Quality Assurance Unit, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh Mr Nazmin Afroze-Research Officer, QAU, UGC Mr Mauli Azad-Senior Assistant Secretary (Legal), UGC Mr Md Khaled Shifullah-Program Officer, HEQEP They deal with the quality assurance aspects in the field of education in their country and they had come here to understand the way it is implemented in our institution. Besides, they were also keen on interacting with the faculty and students of DSBA. They were welcomed by the Principal Dr (Brig) Sandes and the Dean Dr Veena. They were taken on a tour around the campus and then the faculty members were introduced to all of them. In the Seminar Hall, the delegates were familiarised to DSI and DSBA institutions by way of videos .Dr Veena gave a presentation wherein she expressed pride that on World Standards Day, DSBA has been able to maintain high standards of excellence in providing education to the students. The Dean mentioned that in DSBA quality assurance is achieved in the outcome keeping the stakeholders in mind-the students, parents, industry and society. DSI’s vision, infrastructure and the policies also help in the maintenance of quality. She stated that uniqueness at DSBA is in the way the programme focuses on concepts, analysis, application and integration and the pedagogy includes consultative and participative teaching, experiential learning, IT integrated , Global Captivation, Short term Internships and Industrial visits to name a few. Dr Veena briefed the delegates on programs under DSBA’s Centre of Excellence and in this context invited them to contribute their research articles to the DSBA journal. The Principal Dr.Sandes apprised the visitors about DSBA being a participating institute in following the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) given by United Nations, piloted the International Conference on “Challenges and Opportunities for Developing a Sustainable RUBAN Society” and also added that the students actively practise the Happiness Programme conducted by the Art of Living International Centre. Ms Ankita Seth, second year student shared her experiences at DSBA particularly focussing on the Village Empowerment Programme and Management students’ contribution to the adopted village in the areas of education, civic awareness and empowerment. She also highlighted on the enriched experiences the students gained at Malaysia during the Global Captivation Programme .She insightfully answered all the queries the delegates posed to her. An interaction towards the end helped the delegates make queries which were adeptly answered by the Principal and the Dean. Mr Zillur Rehman, Additional Director IQAC proposed a vote of thanks wherein he thanked Dr Sandes and Dr Veena for helping them understand the quality check process at DSBA and appreciated in particular the cocurricular activities undertaken by the institution and expressed hope that the surfeit of takeaways, they were taking home can be applied to the institutions at Bangladesh.
