Ayudha Puja celebrated with lot of fanfare at DSBA

Ayudha Puja is a day of ‘Worship of tools’. It is a gesture symbolizing work as worship. It can also be seen as invoking God to be a part of their implements and guide them throughout their profession. The celebration is also a form of thanksgiving to god .The celebration honors God Ganesha (remover of obstacles) and all three supreme goddesses of Hindu mythology- Goddess Saraswati (goddess of wisdom), goddess Lakshmi (goddess of wealth) and goddess Parvathi (goddess of power).

Ayudha Puja was celebrated on 8th October’16 this year in the administrative office of DSBA in the presence of Dr [Brig] Sandes- Principal, DSBA & Prof Nikitha, HOD-UG. Faculties and office staff of DSBA were present. Everyone at DSBA gave their tools of the trade – pens, books, college stationary– the paraphernalia to worship them according to rituals.

The air was resonant with devotional songs & Prof Harikrishna took on the mantle of performing the puja amidst chanting of mantras to invoke the Gods & Goddesses. He smeared all the items with turmeric & vermillion.Ms Sandhya along with Mr Naveen had made all the arrangements for the puja by procuring flowers, fruits, incense sticks and the other items required for performing the rituals. Pumpkin was broken in the foyer to ward off the evil eye. Then the aarthi was done & each one was handed a packet of puffed rice as Prasad. Celebration is incomplete without gifts. Hence, the management of DSI distributed sweet packets to all the employees. Mr Lokesh was in charge of distribution.

Thus, the entire organization bonded together to invoke the blessings of the Almighty for a bright and prosperous future.
