Report on the visit to Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd

Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages Pvt Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Coca- Cola, manufactures and retails several beverages through its 1.3 million retailers. Majority of their Karnataka operations are taken care of by their factory at Bidadi Industrial Area in Bangalore.IV Semester BCom students went to the factory premises on 23 March’16.They left campus at 9:30 am and were back after the visit at 1 pm.Mr. Basil, Corporate Relations Manager accompanied the students

The moment the students reached the factory Ms Priyanka from the Quality Assurance Department welcomed them and explained the rules and regulations and gave the safety instructions .After that they were taken to the canteen and given samples of their products.

They were informed that Maaza, a non-aerated coca cola product has been there in the market for over three decades now, with its establishment in 1970’s. The brand got famous after heavy publicity and positive responses from the customers. A different procedure is followed just for this drink. The best of Alphonso’s and Totapuri mangoes are used to make this popular drink.

                                                       

Other than Mazaa, the beverages they produce are Thumbs Up, Sprite, Fanta, Coke and Kinley. The plant is fully automated. There is a separate production line for water, beverages and mazza. Ms Priyanka spoke about all the activities happening in the plant like washing of bottles, filling, capping, labelling and packaging. She also cleared the doubts the students had regarding marketing and manufacturing. The students were also educated on the 17 steps that is taken care of by the company to purify water.

                    

The enthralling visit provided students an opportunity to learn practically through interaction.
