A session on Post Budget Analysis by UG Students

I, II and III year BCom and BBA students class wise participated in the Post Union budget Analysis on 10th February’17. Seeing the overwhelming response from the students the session continued and ended on 11th February’17 as part of the ‘Arebus’ Finance Club Activity. Twenty teams were formed and each team had a minimum of two and a maximum of four students. The event was held in Room 111.

The event was coordinated by Prof Usha and Prof Roopashree.
The judges were Prof Surekha V Nayak, Prof Meera Seshanna, Prof Lakshmikantha and Prof Arun Kumar Shetty.
The participating teams spoke broadly on how the Union Budget will translate the economy and how it will impact the country’s growth in this fiscal year.

Students commented on the key highlights of the Finance Budget, impact of cut in the tax rate, relief to the small and medium sized enterprises; the digital theme in every area of the budget, focus on underlying infrastructure, move to enable start-ups, cheer to the healthcare sectors, budget’s boosts sentiment the housing, surcharge levy etc covering all aspects of the budget!
They then enunciated on the ten takeaways’ of the Union Budget.
Throughout the presentation, the judges and the audience were proactive and addressed burning questions to the teams. All the participants enthusiastically tackled the questions as they were prepared thoroughly which took everyone by surprise!
