CIL Training organized by Dept of Commerce & Management and IQAC on Communication Skills to First year M. Com Students conducted on 13th April, 2023 from 10.30 am to 4.00 pm at Room No. G05 and on 3rd May, 2023 from 10 am to 4 pm at fourth floor seminar hall. The details of CIL training is as under

CIL is established in the year 2006 under the banner of Dayananda Sagar Institutions (DSI) to bridge the gap between pure academics and the corporate realities. The Centre aims to impart innovative soft skill training programs to enable individuals to become champion leaders in their endeavor, and to sustain a high level of performance at the individual and the organizational level.

DAY 01 CIL Training Program:

The training program started with a welcome speech by Dr. Revanayya, faculty in-charge. Resource Persons Keerthi Chalakaran and Praveena M started the session after the welcome speech. Keerthi Chalakaran initiated the session with great energy all the students have introduced one by one to the resource persons. Genuine and friendly nature of resource person helped each student to actively participate in all the activities. Class has been classified into 3 groups and topics allotted to each group involving self-introduction, a minute speech regarding their topics like past events, people, life experience.

Students were highly inspired and get motivation after listening to resource persons’ past life experience. The importance of dress etiquette and so on have been highlighted during the session.

Discussion on importance of 3Es (3Es: Education, Experience, and Environment) and 3Cs (3Cs - Communication, Cooperation, and Coordination) with some examples carried on by the resource person effectively. Resource person also highlighted the importance of 3Es and 3Cs in improving relationship with each phase of life.

At the end resource person highlighted five important communication skills which are essential in life.

  • Interpersonal
  • Group discussion
  • Organizational speaking
  • Public speaking.

Different activities with created groups took place effectively during the training session from 10.30am to 4.00 pm with half an hour lunch break in between. At the end of the day, after involving in different activities, the students came to know and understand the importance of why one has to study or for what reason one has to do work before doing that everyone should

ask oneself. Overall, students were happy for the training session on communication skills.

The First of Day of CIL Training session came to an end with a vote of thanks by Mr. Mallesh.

Day 02 CIL Training Program on 3rd May 2023.

CIL Training started at 10 am in fourth floor seminar hall by resource person Keerthi Chalakaran. Resource person planned the session by asking everyone so that whole day is filled with more fun and activities. Firstly, madam gave some information like positive attitude, inter-personal skill, group discussion and public speaking followed by group presentations by different teams.

After presentations the importance of six pillars of character like: Trustworthy, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, citizenship discussed in detail. Resource Person gave some tips for effective communication.

Finally, resource person highlighted the six c's of communication:

  • Concrete
  • Correct
  • Coherent
  • Complete
