On 21st and 22nd of July 2023, Dayananda Sagar Business Academy hosted a state-level inter-collegiate management fest. There were more than 30 plus events, 30 plus colleges participated and over 1200 students took part. The event was taken over by DJ Arun Productions. Our few proud sponsors were Ludope, Decathlon, Eagles Unbound, NICT and many more. The Chief guests for the event were Dr. Sridhar, Smt. Akai Padmashali, Mr. Rajeev and Smt. Reena Raghu Swarna. The event witnessed one of the best rappers of Kannada by a live musical performance by MC Biju and S.I.D. There was a live water drums performance by on 21st July 2023, followed by a DJ Night by DJ Joshua from DJ Arun Productions. We were also accompanied by Nimika Ratnakar and Ragini Diwedi. History was indeed created again by Dayananda Sagar Business Academy.

CULTURAL EVENTS

Solo Dancing: There were 12 students from more than 9 plus colleges performed in a variety of dance forms, such as Bharatanatyam, western, hip-hop, and contemporary. Vashasas, a student at SJBIT College, won this competition, and Sai Suraj, a student at Jain college, Jayanagar, finished in second place.

Solo Singing: The act of producing musical sounds with the voice and augments regular speech by the use of sustained tonality, rhythm, and a variety of vocal techniques. There were 13 participants from 10 plus different colleges, and all sang magnificently. The winner for the event was Mcwin Joy, from SDM Degree College. We witnessed two runners-up, being, Poornasri from Acharya Institute and Arjun and Vaishnavi from Christ LAW college,

Stand Up Comedy: Stand-up has multiple genres and styles with their own formats, rules and target audience. The participants found this competition fun. 5 individuals took part. Chirag from DSATM won the competition, and Trishasri from Bishop Cotton finished in second place.

Rap Battle: Rap battles are rap performances between two or more artists that include boasting, verbal jabs, and wordplay. Live clashes frequently feature spontaneous freestyles or performances of battle rap. There were 2 participants, and Nikitha RS fron Govt. RC was the winner.

Rangoli: In the Indian subcontinent-based art form of rangoli, designs are made on the floor or a tabletop using items like powdered lime stone, red ochre, dry rice flour, coloured sand, coloured quartz powder, flower petals, and coloured rocks. There were 5 entrants; Sindhu of St. Francis took first place, with Vinay from SBRR College coming in second.

Treasure Hunt: The concept of a treasure hunt—looking for lost treasure—has always been thrilling and daring. Participants in a treasure hunt work in small groups to locate the prize using the provided clues. The winning team is the one who cracks the code and locates the treasure first. 17 teams were present. Priyanka and her team from Presidency College won this competition, and Ashwini and her team from Arihant college finished in second place.

Face Painting: The practise of painting or sketching decorations on someone's face as a kind of ornamentation beautiful design went into the faces. 4 individuals took part. Spoorthy KY from GSS college finished in second place, and Sindhu from SFC college took first place.

Group Dance: It is the rhythmic movement of a group of people, usually to music and in a set area, for the aim of expressing a concept or emotion, letting off steam, or just enjoying the movement itself. There were 7 teams from various colleges, each performing a distinct dance style, such as kathak, western, hip-hop, and others. SJBIT College took first place, with Christ College coming in second.

Battle of the Bands is a music contest and music competition in which two or more bands compete for the title of best band. The winner is determined by a voice vote of the audience or the band who brings the most people to support them. Traditionally, battles of bands are held at live music events and forums. There were 2 teams. The winner of the event was Kalatva team from Surana College.

Fashion shows help in creating interest among the public to spread awareness about new arrivals in design and style. These shows help to draw public attention. Fashion marketing scrutinises fashion trends, coordinate sales and promote goods. It is necessary to grant exposure to various trends and styles of clothing. Participants were dressed in various different styles and were looking beautiful. There were 4 teams which participated in the event. The winner was IIFT college and runner was DSI Arts and Commerce College.

Beatboxing (also known as beat boxing) is a style of vocal percussion that largely involves the imitation of drum machines using the mouth, lips, tongue, and voice, usually a TR-808. Additionally, various musical instruments and vocal turntablism mimicry may be used. There were 4 people present. Navneeth from MSRIT was the winner and Thanush K from NSIC College was the runner.

Mono-acting also known as monologue acting, is a theatrical performance in which a single actor delivers a speech or performance alone on stage, portraying a character or conveying a story. We had 2 participants and the winner of this event was Soukhya from NMKRV college.

Pick and Dance is an event where participants draw or pick chits with song titles written on them randomly, and then they have to dance to the song they have picked. For this event, 8 contestants from different colleges. Harsha from Christ PU college was the winner followed by Bipin from Santiniketan College was the runner-up.

Mehendi, also known as henna, is a traditional form of body art originating from India and other parts of South Asia. It involves applying a paste made from the leaves of the henna plant to create intricate designs on the screen. There were 5 participants for this competition, Mehak from DSI college came in first, followed by Pooja from JIT college in the second place.

Body Building is a popular fitness and competitive sport that involves the development and sculpting of the body’s muscles through resistance training, weightlifting, and nutrition. There were, a total of 12 contestants from various colleges. Tilak from BGS college was the winner followed by Rohan Gupta from Jain University and Kabir from DSBA as the runner up.

Instrumental Music is a genre of music that is primarily composed and performed without the use of vocals or lyrics. Instead, instrumental music relies on musical instruments to convey emotions, tell stories, or evoke moods. 3 participants, participated in this event and the winner was Surabhi from Christ University.
