Sagara Taranga 2023 – Sports Club (“Chakravyuha”)

There were over all around 30 plus colleges and more than 400 students participated in the sports events. The Events was organized by the sports club President Mr.Manoj V from final year BBA, Vice President Ms. Shakthi Anusha G from final year BBA, Champions Lakshmi and Jayanth from 2nd year B.com and few volunteers. The Events were conducted as meticulously planned by Mr.Prakasha, the sports Committee Co-coordinator. The events were carried out with the help of Event Co-coordinators- Manoj from 3rd year BBA, Jayanth and Lakshmi from 2nd year B.com for Gully cricket, Tharun from 3rd year BBA and Hemasundhar from 2nd year BCA for Badminton, Shakthi Anusha from 3rd year BBA and Tejasvi from 1st year BBA for Table Tennis. Events were set to motion under the guidance of Faculty Coordinators Mr.Manoj and Mr. Vishnu for Gully Cricket, Ms.Shaziya and Mr.Prakasha for Badminton and Table Tennis. A great deal of Enthusiasm was seen in the students and the faculty members.

The Events Began at 11 am after the inauguration at the main stage. All the Sports events began at the same time simultaneously.

There were more than 25 teams participated in Gully Cricket (Boys) held between inter-colleges. The Event began after the arrival of Chief Guest Mr. Rajeev Hanu. The Matches were carried out according to the fixtures which was prepared earlier on that day after the registration of the teams. Each team consisted of 10members (8+2). The First day of the fest (21st) we completed with the league matches in Knock-out Format, and the next following day of the fest we conducted semi-finals and Final matches. The Government first grade College (GFGC) Won the Match and Dayananda Business Academy of Technology and Management (DSATM) finished the Runner-up.

Badminton for Men &Women (Doubles), on the other hand which was conducted simultaneously among other sports events was held between the inter-colleges. There were more than 17 colleges participated including Men &Women. The First day of the fest (21st) we completed with the league matches in knock out format. The next following day we conducted semi-finals and Final for best of three for 21 points (Men &Women). Matches were carried out according to the fixtures which was prepared on the day after the registration. In Boys, Likith Raghav & Pavan L from Rajarajeshwari College of engineering (RRCE) Won the Match and Varun V& Bilwesh VR from St. Claret College finished the Runner-up. In Girls, Inchitha &Srushthi from CMS Jain University won the match and Shambavi &Sinchana from RV PU College finished the Runner –up.

Table Tennis (Singles) also held between the inter-colleges. There were more than 15 participants participated in this event. The matches were carried out according the fixtures prepared earlier on that day after the registration. This event was completed in one day. Matches were conducted for 11 points and for semi-final and finals for best of 5 sets. Aditya from Base PU College won the match with 3-0 set points and Pradyumna from Jain College finished the Runner up.

The sports events organized during the Sagara Taranga Fest were a resounding success, exemplifying the significance of sportsmanship, teamwork, and inclusivity in our institution.The overwhelming participation and enthusiastic response from all involved have set the stage for even more exceptional sports events in the future. The success of the sports events, coupled with the other festivities during Sagara Taranga Fest, made this year's edition truly memorable.
