Pookolam

‘Pookolam’- By Samskruthi

India has been fostering many traditions and cultural practices. One among these practices is the art of pookolam. It is an activity in which individuals create a decorative rangoli using vibrant colour of flowers and charcoal powder.

On account of Dasara, ‘Samskruthi’ - The Cultural Club, of Dayananda Sagar Business Academy had organised a ‘Pookolam Competition’ on 18th October, 2023. The students were given 2 hours to design their rangolis. The competition was held from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm in B block.

We had 14 groups of enthusiastic participants in which each group consisted of 2-4 members. The competition was judged by our principal Dr. Veena .K.N ma’am Prof. Keerthi ma’am, Prof. Ramya ma’am. The participants were successful in creating a feast to the viewers eyes with their vibrant pookolam.

Winners of the event :

1st place : group 1 bcom ‘A’ sec 5th sem ( Lakshmi.A , Monica.C , Harshitha.M.C , Bhoomika.K.M )

Group 2 bba 3rd sem ( Divya.N, Inchana.G.S, Sneha.C, Sai. Sneha)

2nd place : Group 4 bcom ‘B’ section 1st sem (Abhijina.R, Sinchana.N, Joycel.J, Jhanavi.R)

3rd place : Group 13 bcom ‘A’ section 1st sem ( Varshini.D.R, Varsha.A, Trisha.R, Lakshmi)
