This comprehensive report summarizes the gender equality session held on Nov 3rd 2023. Equal Opportunity Cell of DSBA organised this session for 1st year B.com students. Emcee for
the session was Varshini from B.com and introduction speech was given by Shamitha from B.Com.
Prof. Renuka Babladi served as a speaker aiming to enlighten students about gender equality and provided valuable insights. She began her session by gender equality introduction and giving an in depth information about it.
Gender equality is giving the equal rights to both men and women in all aspects. She elaborated about equal opportunity for all gender. She taught us how to achieve gender equality.
There are some points on which she emphasised and are listed below:
After listening to this session we got some awareness about gender equality and also she specially mentioned about third gender, to treat them equally by giving awareness about fundamental rights under the constitution and under international law.
Once the session was over few participants shared their feedback about the session mentioning about their takeaways i,e, awareness about many fundamental laws in gender equality and the ways and means to end gender disparities by securing equal participation and opportunities, driving positive change in various fields, achieving social justice and uphold the principles of fairness and dignity for everyone. Finally, the session came an end with proposing vote of thanks by Sinchana of B.com Class.
We the students of DSBA are grateful to the Equal Opportunity Cell of DSBA for setting up this session for us. We are also thankful to the Resource Person of the day and the Event coordinator Nazeer Pasha sir for helping us understand the importance of Equal Opportunity in every step by organising this session. We are sure to continue the practices and inculcate our learning in our daily life and become socially fit by driving positive change.
